About

Are you looking for a way to play with other people or do wish you could be part of a musical team? Perhaps you already play in a group that is looking to develop your chamber music skills? Did you know that playing chamber music develops skills akin to living life in harmony with others? If any of these things resonate with you this class is for you! You will:

  • learn the skills of great chamber music playing: listening, watching, adjusting, being sensitive and being flexible
  • learn to integrate these skills and observe and comment on them in other groups
  • work with a high level and well matched group
  • play some of the greatest literature in classical music
  • have fun being part of a small, but intimate team

Testimonials

"Colleen is a marvelous, effective, thorough, calm and engaging coach. She has a great way of taking the temperature of each player, getting to know us individually and as a group, and figuring out ways to offer a suggestion that increases our ability to express musical ideas and connect with each other. Everything from phrasing to imagery, and technique to relaxation techniques."

~Renna Pye, chamber music student

"I am very thankful to have Colleen as my chamber music coach. Colleen is a wonderful and effective coach. She has many creative ideas and even introduced me to Music-Minus-One so that I could play in a "quartet" by myself in the midst of the pandemic."

~Yoonsa Lee, age 13
